Exploration: What can wool teach us?
How can we cultivate a renewed sense of appreciation for a material we already know? To shed light on this topic, we invited multiple speakers to our panel talks during Dutch Design Week.
Education: Human-Animal Relations
For nine days of Dutch Design Week(DDW) two research films were on display. These films inspire us to look at animals as closely connected to us and to see textiles as a way to care for animals. Through showing the humanlike experiences of sheep and alpacas, these works highlight the need for care and welfare of animals.
Exhibition: Wool (Re)discovered
This year we selected five talents whose approach as fashion designers reimagines the craftsmanship of wool. We selected these designers as their collections reveal the potential of wool through their various approaches, ranging from identity to forgotten tradition.
Exploration: Wereldmuseum
For our third NOOF Field Exploration we visited the Wereldmuseum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. NOOF talent Denzel Veerkamp interviewed Daan van Dartel, curator Popular Culture and Fashion.
Activation: New Store 2.0
With the New Store 2.0, presented at Milan Design Week 2024, Nieuwe Instituut imagines a store where shopping helps the environment instead of harming it. Come join NOOF talent Woo Jin Joo to embroider with human hair!
Exploration: TextielLab
For our second NOOF Field Exploration we visited the TextielLab in Tilburg, the Netherlands. NOOF talent Dylan Eno interviewed Hebe Verstappen, Head of the TextielLab.

Last summer we invited NOoF talents Antonia Schreiter and Brooke Druen, to complete a Passement Residency with passementry expert Veva van de Wolf at the TextielMuseum in Tilburg.
Exhibition: Fashion Fictions
Fashion Fictions is on view at Vancouver Art Gallery till October 9th. New Order of Fashion was involved as a curatorial consultant on the fantastical exhibition. Four NOOF talents were included in the exhibition.

In early spring we invited NOoF talents Stefan Kartchev, Jessica Rijkers and Amy Lewis, to complete a Weaving Residency with weaving experts Amandine Davide and Theo Rooden at our very own NOOF LAB.
Education: Transitions
Nine European institutions come together to train young people in the textile sector in sustainability and digitalisation. The project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
Activation: The Green Wash
In the Green Wash Shop, New Order of Fashion and studio Hurra PangPang invite visitors to be blown away by the design potential of discarded garments.
Exhibition: Truth Seekers
During the 2022 Dutch Design Week, New Order of Fashion 2022 presents a new generation of fresh graduates on the rise. The group show called Truth Seekers, places reality under review. The participants unravel our currently fragmented world.
