Flock, Folk, Field

New Order of Fashion (NOOF) is an international platform for exceptional fashion and textile talent by presenting fresh and radical perspectives through innovation, experimentation and co-creation. Our goal is to fuel the industry’s transition toward fully circular and regenerative practices. In times of radical environmental, social, economic and cultural change, a collaborative approach is essential. Through exhibitions, activations, research and residencies, we strive to enrich the discourse around sustainable approaches and to support those exemplary practitioners that are at the forefront of the sustainability revolution.

Every year, during Dutch Design Week we present a new generation of the most forward-thinking textile and fashion talents. For the 2026 Dutch Design Week (17-25 October), we tell the story of regenerative fashion practices through the positions of Flock, Folk, and Field.

About this year's call

NOOF dives further into the story of wool by listening to the voice of the sheep, from those who care for animals, people and planet. How does design expose systemic tensions between the visible and invisible, the global and local? How does design determine the difference between waste and resource, and in doing so create paths towards transformation? How can designers mediate between extractive logics and emergent regenerative ones?

NOOF invites designers to contribute looks/projects that explore fashion and textiles within these three areas:

Flock - sheep, animals, human-animal relationships

What stories remain unheard? This perspective is about the human and animal relationships and the story of the animal behind the material.

Folk - craftsmanship, reinventing and reinterpretation of historical practices, community

What stories are preserved through making? This perspective is about craft, communities, and commonality.

Field - earth care, connection to nature, agriculture, resources, more-than human, shepherds, farmers

What stories are rooted in the landscape? This perspective is about resources, land and planet.

*Regeneration is the process of regenerating, renewing or restoring something after it has been depleted, damaged or even completely lost. Regeneration takes a holistic approach to restoring ecosystems, by not just minimizing environmental impact, but by taking a stance for giving back through earth care, people care and fair share of our planets resources.
