Rust Dyeing & Zero-Waste Kimono | Weekend Workshop with Free Prisoner

€250.00

Sat 21 + Sun 22 November 2026 | 10:00-16:00
Weekend workshop | €250 incl. lunch
NOOF, Torenallee 22-06, Strijp-S Eindhoven

Dye with rust, cut without waste, and leave with a kimono of your own making.

Over two days, Amber Witte of zero-waste fashion label Free Prisoner guides you through a process where experiment and design become one. You explore rust as a natural dye and construct a kimono from a zero-waste pattern. On Sunday the two come together in a single finished garment.

Programme
Saturday: rust and pattern
Experiment with rust as a natural dye and learn how it reacts to fabric, moisture and time. Then measure, draft and cut a zero-waste pattern for your kimono, and take the first steps on the sewing machine.

Sunday: bringing it together
Finish your kimono. From your experiments, choose the rust technique that speaks to you most and apply it to your garment.

You’ll leave with
A handmade kimono in natural fabric, shaped by your own experiments and design choices.

For who
Open to beginners and experienced makers alike. No sewing or dyeing experience needed.

Good to know
Rust dyeing is hands-on work. Wear clothes that can get dirty.

Included
Lunch on both days.
