The Art of Illusion | Workshop with Kirsten Louwrier

€80.00

Sunday 15 November 2026 | 10:00-13:00
Workshop | €80
NOOF, Torenallee 22-06, Strijp-S Eindhoven

Hand appliqué and trompe-l’œil, inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli.

Schiaparelli loved to play with illusion: pieces that seem to be something other than what they are. In this workshop, Kirsten Louwrier takes her work as a starting point to look at form, colour and imagination. You then build your own image in hand appliqué, using fabric scraps, needle and thread, and explore how simple shapes can create something unexpected.

The aim isn’t a perfect finished product. It’s about experimenting, layering and discovering what happens when you place things side by side and on top of each other. Everyone leaves with a textile piece of their own, where technique and personal interpretation meet.

An intimate setting
With a maximum of eight participants, this is a rare chance to work closely with Kirsten and get personal guidance throughout the morning.

For who
Open to all. No experience needed.

Included
A curated selection of fabrics and materials to combine and experiment with.
