RAÍZ- RELIQUIA

by Malena Wainerman and Michelle Cherin

RAÍZ- RELIQUIA begins with its collection, built entirely from Malena’s grandmother's garments, to ask what stories survive in a fabric once its owner is no longer there. The film follows the process of reconstructing those garments with interviews, family photo archive and workshop shots to show upcycling not as a production technique, but as an act of care and shared memory. Every cut and mend a form of conversation between generations and a way of putting into practice Reliquia's core purpose: reconnecting people emotionally with the belongings they carry through life. With this documentary, Wainerman want to propose a simple but urgent idea: that regenerative fashion doesn't begin in the workshop, but in the memory of those who came before us.
