Her en Der
by Martina Novakova, Sarah Van Looy, Sarah Vandoorne and Anna Roos van Wijngaarden.
Her en Der (Here and There) is a short film about the collapsing value of sheep's wool in the Benelux and the disappearance of an industry that provided many with vital and beautiful products, a loss for shepherds and for society at large. The film is a portrait of shepherd Daphne Hogeweg, marching through Texel with the sheep she holds dear and calling for a revaluation of the fibre that has kept us warm for centuries. The short film forms part of an ongoing investigation into the potential revival of local wool in the Netherlands and Belgium, offering an intimate look into the shepherd's world. The final documentary is supported by the Pascal Decroos Fund for Investigative Journalism.
