Refugio

by Dima Faraj

A short film which follows the making of Steph Orozco’s 2027 Spring/Summer presentation at Stockholm Fashion Week. It began with a personal desire to document the intimate, often unseen moments leading up to a fashion show. Reaching out to Orozco, Faraj asked if she could make a short film, and Orozco graciously welcomed Faraj into her world of creativity, identity, craftsmanship, and care.

Steph Orozco is an independent fashion brand that reimagines existing textiles, giving old fabrics new life through thoughtfully handcrafted garments. Every piece is made with intention, reflecting a slow, sustainable approach to fashion. The film centers on Refugio, a collection inspired by the idea of refuge as both a physical and emotional space. Shaped by the dialogue between Stockholm and Monterrey, the collection embraces stillness, attentive listening, and slowness as essential parts of the creative process. It also marks the brand's first presentation in Stockholm. Rather than focusing solely on the runway, the film captures the energy, relationships, and dedication behind the collection, revealing the humanity and care that define independent fashion-making.
