Cinema Talk: Giving Wool a Voice

What happens when wool gets a voice? In this beautiful six-minute stop-motion film, wool tells a story of forgotten traditions, the bond between humans and nature, and the pastoral communities who have cared for Deccani sheep for generations.

Created by Studio Eeksaurus in collaboration with the Centre for Pastoralism for Living Lightly – Journeys with Pastoralists, Desi Oon brings this vanishing way of life to life through the remarkable craft of animation, using real Deccani wool.

Join us for a 30-minute conversation with award-winning filmmaker Suresh Eriyat as we explore the inspiration behind the film, the art of storytelling through animation, and how film can reconnect us with the people, landscapes, and traditions we risk forgetting.

Come listen, discover, and see wool in a whole new light.

Panelist:

Pollyanna Moss (host)
