I SEASON WITH ANTS is a fashion film accompanying Necpalová’s graduate collection. Set in the familiar space of a Soviet kitchen, the film explores contemporary life through repetition, domestic rituals and quiet contradictions. Drawing from memories of growing up in a Slavic household, the kitchen becomes a space where history, care and survival are embedded in everyday gestures, inherited objects and materials. Sculptural wigs made from sheep’s wool extend the characters and connect the body to traditions of craft and natural fibre. Archival footage, handcrafted garments and performative imagery blur the boundaries between fashion, installation and cinema.
Through tailoring and material experimentation, the work reflects on how making preserves stories and how domestic traditions shape collective identity. By transforming ordinary rituals into poetic and unsettling scenes, the film considers the role of craft in carrying memory into the future.

“I see fashion as a powerful medium for storytelling, a space where garments become characters, materials become narratives, and concepts are brought to life through making.”
